A Family Tradition

THE "ORIGINAL" CALABASH SEAFOOD BUFFET SINCE 1986!

For nearly four decades, The Original Benjamin’s has been the landmark Calabash seafood buffet in Myrtle Beach. Our story is rooted in the Grand Strand — a region blessed with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Intracoastal Waterway on the other, producing some of the freshest oysters, crabs, and fish anywhere on the East Coast.

We proudly source local seafood and produce from South Carolina farms, creating a buffet that truly reflects the flavors of the Lowcountry. From Calabash seafood Myrtle Beach visitors crave, to Southern favorites like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and homemade mac and cheese, our menu of over 170 items has something for everyone. Add carving stations, pasta, a crab station, and a bakery that makes breads and desserts fresh daily, and it’s no wonder families return year after year.

CALABASH SEAFOOD HISTORY

The Original Benjamin’s introduced the Myrtle Beach area to authentic Calabash-style seafood, a tradition that originated just north of us in Calabash, NC. Known for its light batter and crispy, golden finish, Calabash seafood has become a staple of the Grand Strand dining scene — and we’ve been serving it since 1986.

Our award-winning buffet has been recognized in national publications like USA Today and Southern Living, and is consistently voted "Best of the Beach" by locals. When visitors search for the best Calabash seafood in Myrtle Beach, they discover The Original Benjamin’s.

MORE THAN JUST A RESTAURANT

Dining here is also an adventure. The Original Benjamin’s is home to one of the largest private nautical collections in the world, including handcrafted ship models built by master shipwright Jimmy Frost. From the 18-foot Queen Elizabeth replica to historic schooners, military vessels, and cruise liners, Jimmy’s work makes the restaurant feel like a maritime museum.

As you explore, you’ll encounter nautical artifacts, collectibles, and displays from across the globe — making us more than just a buffet. We’re a Myrtle Beach landmark where food, history, and tradition meet.
